As the days are getting longer, my chickens are coming back into lay. I have six altogether, and the only one not laying at the moment is Florrie, my rare and rather handsome black leghorn. She’s an excellent forager and is always on the move, hence the slightly wonky photo. She lays beautiful big chalk white eggs and never misses a day when she’s laying, making a right racket afterwards to tell you how clever she’s been.
