This is Tommy, one of my neighbours at the allotment. He lives just down the road and is at the allotment almost every day. He likes pottering about in his little shed and has made it all nice with baskets of geraniums. He has a slightly freeform approach to growing and I never know where to put my foot when I have a look at his plot. He always has a stash of mint humbugs in his pocket and a tin of hand rolled cigarettes that he seems to spend more time keeping alight than actually smoking.
Tommy’s wife Kath is blind and she comes with him in the evenings when she likes to sit in a chair in the evening sun and he tells her about what’s growing. Tommy’s son and granddaughter Tegan also visit regularly. Tegan loves helping her grandad and monitors the progress of the tadpoles in his little pond.
