Normally by this time of the year, virtually all my fresh fruit and veg are home grown, but this summer has been so bad for the garden, it’s only recently that we’ve started to have a decent harvest.
This meal was mainly home grown; a bowl of mixed salad leaves including little gem lettuce, salad burnet and chives, broad bean puree with lemon and mint and mozzarella with tomatoes and basil. One of the tomatoes was home grown, our first this year with a decent looking if very late crop ripening on the vine.
