Chopping windfalls to make apple wine. I made some of this a couple of years ago in desperation to deal with an apple glut. I’m not a fan of cider and was worried it would come out like manky old scrumpy. The result was a beautifully fragrant and slightly sweet wine with a gorgeous golden colour. It was quite potent and not so much a table wine as an under the table wine. It’s all long gone and I’ll have to wait a year before this lot is ready.
